We've been keeping this news to ourselves far too long! Our girl Jeannine Errico has joined the ranks of the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences as the Manager of Administration & Programming - which basically means that she will be utilizing her "scientific brain & artistic heart" to bring the best of both worlds to one of our favorite places on the Island. We can not wait to watch as she collaborates with our friends Amy, Lydia & Jeff to make it happen!
From Rick Bushnell, LBIF President
The Board of Trustees and its Search Committee are pleased to announce that we have hired a new Manger of Administration & Programming - Jeannine Errico.
At the annual meeting we stated that we needed to hire a person to move the LBIF forward. We also said we were not going to simply replace the Executive Director. We knew we needed to answer the question: What WILL move the LBIF forward? It was not easy to operate without a hired administrator in 2015 but your board, staff, and volunteer leaders stepped up. We closed ranks to make improvements in finances, operations and we elevated the quality of our programs, their management, and promotion.
There is much yet to do, but it is apparent that the answer to the fundamental question is that we need a person to enable our talented and dedicated volunteers and staff to produce, promote, and manage the highest quality programs, classes, and events. In doing so, LBIF serves our members, the art and science community, and attracts future membership and financial support.
Jeannine is that person. Her most recent accomplishment was the first ever Makers Festival for the "makers" of things.... (Artists + crafters). It drew over 3,000 people to Manahawkin in the fall. Knowing the local and broader community of artists and crafters, identifying an opportunity, employing social and other media - along with logistics planning - demonstrated that Jeannine has a real talent in all the disciplines vital to the future success of the LBIF. Oh and about science - Jeannine holds a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology/Pre-medical track and an M.S. in Forensic Science/Criminalistics.
Please join us in welcoming Jeannine!
